Nancy O'Dell's broadcast career began as a reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. She later worked as morning news anchor and the crime reporter at WCBD TV. O'Dell's reporting on the lax responses of police officers in response to DUI incidents in Charleston resulted in an investigation conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, that led to a revised direction from the state authorities on DUI cases. In the year 2000, Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell her Best Report of the year award for all South Carolina media. O'Dell has worked in Charleston as a reporter and co-anchor at the NBC Miami WTVJ-TV station, before transferring into Access Hollywood where she is now a correspondent and co-anchor on weekends. O'Dell's current role as a host on Access Hollywood is complemented by the work she has done for NBC News Today, Dateline NBC as well as NBC News. She co-hosted several of Pre-ShowArrivals programs for The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. She also hosted Miss America's Pageant as and the Miss Universe Pageant.
